Booking FAQ
How much is the joining fee and what does it include?
The joining fee will either be £10 or £30 depending on the direct debit plan selected. £10 joining fee is payable on 6 monthly and yearly direct debit plans. £30 joining fee is payable on monthly direct debit plans. The fee includes all administration fees associated with joining the club and personal membership to Badminton England (once you have been with the club for three months).
When does the first direct debit go out?
The first direct debit payment will be taken within at least 3 business days.
Can I change the date of the direct debit?
Unfortunately the direct debit date cannot be changed.
When does my membership become active?
Your membership will become active from the moment that you take out the direct debit plan. (Once the joining fee has been paid).
Can I change my membership?
Members can make amendments to their membership, but please note there will be a £5 admin charge when a direct debit plan has to be changed. The only exceptions will be if requested by club or changing from one night to both nights.
Will my direct debit automatically renew?
Yes.
What happens if I cancel my monthly plan?
Your membership would be cancelled and if you wish to become a member again, you would need to pay the £30 joining fee.
What happens if I cancel my 6 or 12 month plan?
Cancelling a 6 month or 12 month plan will incur an administration charge of 15% to cover costs (Minimum charge £5). If you wish to become a member again, you will need to pay the £10 joining fee.
What happens if a payment fails?
If a payment fails, we will manually attempt to take payment again within 2 weeks. If we're unable to take payment successfully, we will contact you about your membership.
Please note that there is a £5 admin charge for failed payments.
How do I cancel my membership?
Inform the club that you wish to cancel your membership. It is your responsibility to cancel your direct debit. If you do not cancel your direct debit, further payments may still be taken.
Will I be notified of any changes to my direct debit instruction?
Yes. GoCardless will notify you via email at least 3 working days in advance of any changes to your payment date and amount.
If I purchase a 6 or 12 month direct debit plan and I'm unable to play, due to an injury for example, what shall I do?
When you subscribe to a direct debit plan, the expectation is that you are able to play for the duration of the plan. If you are unable to play then please contact the club to discuss further. Please note that refunds are not automatically given as this would result in a loss of revenue for the club.
Which banks are supported for the one-off payments?
